5 Tips from an Expert on How to Organize a Worry-free Move

Moving is rated as one of the most stressful occasions in life, but it is possible to have a worry-free move! With mindful planning and time to arrange, the moving procedure can be smooth and easy.

Over the past 18 years, Organizing Boston has assisted with hundreds of relocations. We typically get last-minute calls from overwhelmed customers who require help managing the procedure from start to finish. The one thing they constantly inform us is that they wish they had called us faster! It is never too early to prepare for a relocation-- the time to start is now.

Here are 5 simple ways you can plan and organize for a smooth move:
1. Strategy Ahead
Get the major logistics in place right away, including hiring and arranging a moving company like Gentle Giant. When possible, attempt to prepare your relocation for the middle of the month or the middle of the week when it's less hectic to conserve cash.

2. Declutter
Moving is a terrific incentive to "clean house" and downsize. Make your relocation lighter by getting rid of products you do not like, need or use any longer. Different your mess into stacks of donations, free-cycle, recycle, and junk products, and make strategies to get those products out!

3. Sell and Donate
Moving products you don't want costs money. Offer undesirable furniture, household items and clothes either online or through consignment. Make routine donation drop-offs, or schedule a charity pick-up before your move.

4. Usage It or Lose It
For consumables you do not use regularly, institute a "use it or lose it" policy. This may consist of pantry items, toiletries, desk/office supplies and checking out materials. If they do not get taken in or used before the relocation, then it's unworthy keeping them or moving them to your new home.

5. Load Smart
If you are doing description some or all of your own packaging, make sure to identify your boxes on all sides and specify. Recognize the room and contents for each box. Use different colored labels for each space. Pack "open very first" boxes with the essentials you will require right now: linens, towels, toothbrush and more.

While getting ready for a relocation may not be enjoyable, use it as a chance to evaluate and purge what you own, so you're just entrusted to the products you truly want and will enjoy in your brand-new home. Delighted organizing!
